The Story Starts...
After War World II ended at year 1945, South-East Asia suffer from the damage regrowth as well as the society reform and also economy. Most of the countries facing problems such as economy downtime, lack of medical supply, people are suffer from poverty and all the infrastructure and industrial had been destroyed during the war, things goes same with the agriculture, Malaysia is facing the same issues like other South-East Asia contries.
There is a mother & son Chong Hien Ming(mother) and Chong Ng Bing Kun (son) , they decided to produce a medical oil for outer usage follow the recipe which inherits by the family using the trademark Iron Bridge and they named it "BAN LENG MEDICATED WINDY OIL", the first version of packaging is 1 side printed the wife picture and the other side printed the husband picture, it has been given the nick name as "Ah Po Oil". During that era, medical aids is very limited, if a person got bitten by insects or having a stomach ache there got no clinic or hospital like current days. They found that their family traditional herbs oil come in very handy for solving these. On March 23rd 1947 they start to produce the traditiona herbs oil in their house and later on it become home-factory for this traditional herbs oil.
Solving issues
After the roll out for the medical herbs oil, the market shows a great demand for it, it helps to reduce and solve many daily small issue including insect bites, stomach ache and also other issues such as the small wound treatment and itchiness. It shows a significant protection over new boarn baby stomach over flow by gas, and since then it has been trusted by the moms to apply the oil to the baby after having bath for more than 7 decades until now.Expansion
Over the years, the requirement getting larger and larger, the original home-factory had been enlarged for several time to cater for the production of the traditional medical oil. It had been expanded until the current modern factory which located at the Seri Manjung Industrial Park. With the mordern machinery and also at the industrial level of standard, this traditinal medical oil had been adopted by the government and also the health ministry department to be produced and distribution under the authorization of the departments.
Challenging
From those days until today the most challenging task is the changes of the raw material, even with the same recipe, but the raw ingrediences is difference if compare to the 60's era, thanks to the advance techinology today, we are manage to identify the problems and work together with the Lab to blend in the traditional herbs recipe and also other herbs to make it better.
This traditional herbs oil had been passed down to their 3rd generation grandchildren Ng Chuan Heng to keep their legend and the legacy continue...
